Great Health & Beauty Idea... E-mail

A cold pack can be a girl's best friend.I was reminded of this several times this week as I treated a traumatized finger (which this bookworm is secretly proud of because it is an honest to goodness SPORTS RELATED INJURY) and also had need of some method to decrease puffiness around my eyes (not so proud:I'm a real cry-baby). Instead of the usual leaky bag of frozen peas or hard, lumpy ziploc of ice, I recalled some amazing tips from one of my heros, THE EVERDAY CHEAPSKATE herself, Mary Hart . They worked perfectly! The resulting coldpack was soft and pliable, conforming well to each area.  I used a foodsaver bag but a sturdy ziploc would work as well:
Home-made Cold Pack: Fill a sturdy plastic  bag with Dawn dishwashing liquid or corn syrup. Keep in freezer for times of physical or emotional trauma.

Fashion Color Trend Alert E-mail
Grey is the new black for Fall 2007. This makes sense because of another hot trend: tweed, houndstooth, and traditional suit fabrics in clothing, accessories and home decor. Love grey with black, cream, layer upon layer of other greys - very chic. Grey and charcoal ranges from pale grey to blue grey and deep ultramarine blue. Add this past summer's hot color, YELLOW, why don't ya? My 16 year old was the first one to wake me up to yellow popping up everywhere. If you think it's hard to find the right shade in clothing opting for cheerful, chunky yellow beads, a bangle or patterened scarf will help you embrace this hot color trend without fear.
